Authorities have uncovered illegal energy resource usage in the Andijan and Tashkent regions, resulting in damage valued at over 1 billion soums. The Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the General Prosecutor's Office reported these findings.

In particular, investigations in the city of Andijan and the Andijan district revealed that responsible individuals from "K.R." and "I.Ch." LLCs had clandestinely connected to public electricity grids for commercial purposes. This illegal connection, made in a teahouse named "R." and a production workshop, resulted in the unauthorized use of electricity amounting to 717 million soums.

Additionally, during a pre-investigation inquiry in the Ohangaron district of Tashkent, representatives of the "T.B." farm were found to have connected two water pumps directly to the public network for commercial purposes, leading to illegal usage of electricity valued at 309.4 million soums.

In response to these violations, criminal cases have been initiated under Article 169 (Theft) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.

It is worth noting that earlier, gas stations in Tashkent city and the Samarkand region were identified for illegally siphoning off energy resources valued at 4.8 billion soums.
