Truck carrying drugs was discovered in Surkhandarya

The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan reported that drugs were detected in a truck at the "Airitom" border customs post.

A cargo vehicle entering the "Ayritom" border customs post in the Surkhandarya region was subjected to routine customs control. During the inspection, officials found 7 packages wrapped in yellow tape concealed in a hidden compartment of the truck’s cabin.

When these packages were opened, it was revealed that 3 contained 3 kg of opium, and the remaining 4 held 4 kg and 950 grams of hashish.

“The investigations are currently ongoing,” the statement read.

Previously, an individual in Margilon was arrested for storing 37 kg of drugs in his home.
