Authorities discovered 12 cannabis plants and 317 poppy plants in a citizen's home in the Surkhandarya region, according to the State Customs Committee.
The inspection was carried out by the customs departments of the Bukhara and Surkhandarya regions, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, based on received intelligence.
The investigation revealed that the citizen had been cultivating and maintaining these plants, which resemble drug plants, in a designated area of their household plot.
Expert analysis confirmed that the 12 cannabis plants and 317 poppy plants were indeed narcotic plants. These plants were seized as material evidence in accordance with relevant legislation.
The customs authorities are currently investigating the case.
In a related incident in Samarkand, an individual was apprehended for possessing over 10 kilograms of drugs intended for sale.
