For context, 56-year-old Bahodir Begalov had led the Statistics Agency since May 2017. From 2012 to 2016, he served as the deputy chairman of the State Statistics Committee.
It is also worth noting that the State Statistics Committee was restructured into the Statistics Agency at the end of 2022, following administrative changes, and was subsequently transferred under the direct oversight of the President. Currently, the agency has two deputy directors: Azam Anvarjonovich Ikromov (since 2016) and Zohidjon Murodovich Ziyoyev (since 2019).
