School principal strikes student in Samarkand (video)

In Samarkand region, a school principal struck a student, according to the regional Department of Preschool and School Education.

The incident occurred on March 17, 2025, during the third-period biology class at School No. 50. According to the principal’s statement, an 8th-grade student, Sh.I., was reprimanded by teacher K.U. for talking during class and not sitting quietly. However, the student reportedly insulted the teacher instead of complying, leading to a confrontation between the two.

Another student reported the situation to the principal. Upon entering the classroom, the principal found Sh.I. grabbing the teacher by the collar. In an attempt to intervene, the principal admitted in a written explanation that he slapped the student in a moment of anger.

"The case is currently under investigation by law enforcement authorities," the report states.

Previously, in another school in the Samarkand region, a student’s parent slapped a teacher during a confrontation.
