Today, 29 March, the 1st International “Rustam Kasimjonov Tournament” held at the International Chess Academy in Tashkent will come to an end. The tournament will be memorable to fans because of several unexpected results.
Nodirbek Abdusattarov, who defeated Rustam Kasimjonov in the 2nd round of the competition, faced his main opponent in the championship race, Javahir Sindorov, in the 7th round. In the match called “Uzbek chess classic”, Sindorov came out on top.
Thus, Javahir Sindorov scored 5.5 points out of 7 opportunities and became the sole leader in the tournament.
The competition consists of 9 rounds in total. After 2 more rounds, all the winners and prize-winners of the groups will be announced.
