The prestigious Freestyle Chess Grand Slam tournament hosted by Weissenhaus, Germany, has come to an end.

Two Uzbek grandmasters, Nodirbek Abdusattorov and Javakhir Sindorov, competed for the championship in the tournament, with a prize fund of $750,000. However, Sindorov finished in 4th place and Abdusattorov finished in 6th place.

Starting the tournament on a high note, Javakhir Sindorov, who even defeated Norwegian chess legend Magnus Carlsen, faced American Fabiano Caruana in the semifinals. Sindorov won the first game, while Caruana won the second game.

After the tie-break, the sides also chose a compromise, and Caruana won the Armageddon match and advanced to the final.

In the match for 3rd place, Sindorov again faced Magnus Carlsen, and this time the Norwegian chess player did not give Sindorov a chance. Thus, Carlsen took 3rd place and received a prize of 100 thousand US dollars, while Sindorov received a prize of 60 thousand US dollars.

Abdusattorov, who was already certain that he would not be able to enter the top four in the quarterfinals, fought for 5th place. Nodirbek first defeated Frenchman Alireza Firouzja and had a chance to fight for 5th place. In the match for 5th place, the Uzbek chess player lost both games to the representative of the United States, Hikaru Nakamura, and finished the tournament in 6th place, receiving a prize of 40 thousand US dollars.

The home chess player Vincent Keymer won the tournament. Keymer defeated Fabiano Caruana in the finals and took home $200,000.
