On February 12, the Military Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan sentenced Shokhrukh Akhmedov and Ismail Jahongirov to 23 years in prison each for their involvement in the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov, the former head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan. This information was confirmed by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.

The day after the assassination attempt, on October 27, a video was circulated on social networks showing Akhmedov and Jahongirov confessing to carrying out the attack. Shokhrukh Akhmedov was identified as the bodyguard and driver of Javlon Yunusov, who was arrested in South Korea at the end of November 2024 and extradited to Uzbekistan.

The court also sentenced:
- Shukhrat Rasulov to 23 years in prison
- Javlon Yunusov, accused of organizing the assassination, to 18 years and 6 months
- Doniyor Tashkhodjaev to 7 years in prison

It should be recalled that Javlon Yunusov, who is the son-in-law of the late Vitaly Fen, former Ambassador of Uzbekistan to South Korea, was arrested in South Korea in late November 2024 and later extradited to Uzbekistan.

Attempted murder of Allamjonov

On October 26, at 01:40, while a Range Rover driven by citizen S.S. was traveling along Ifor Street in the Kibray district, two unidentified individuals fired several shots at the vehicle before fleeing the scene. No one was injured in the incident.

The Prosecutor General's Office initiated a criminal case under Articles 25, 97 (Attempted murder), and 248 (Illegal handling of firearms, ammunition, main parts of firearms, explosives, or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An investigative and operational group was formed, including employees from the Prosecutor General's Office, Tashkent Regional, Tashkent City, Military, Transport Prosecutor's Offices, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Tashkent City Internal Affairs Bureau, and the Customs Committee.

The assassination attempt on a senior official of the Presidential Administration was unprecedented in Uzbekistan's history over the past 25-30 years, raising significant public concern. Following this incident, several high-ranking officials were dismissed, including Lieutenant General Abdusalom Azizov, Chairman of the State Security Service since 2019, Colonel Akhrorjon Halimjonovich Atkhamov, Head of the Criminal Investigation Service of the Rapid Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Colonel Doniyor Bakhtiyorovich Toshkhozhaev, First Deputy Head of the Tashkent City Police Department, Lieutenant Colonel Temur Akramovich Sobirov, Head of the Organized Crime Department of the Rapid Investigation Service of the Tashkent City Police Department, Colonel Alijon Ganievich Ashurov, Head of the Internal Security Department of the State Security Service, and Sarvar Ganievich Ashurov, Assistant to the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and Head of the Prime Minister's Reception Office.

While no official explanation has been given for their dismissals, there is widespread speculation about their connection to the assassination attempt on former administration official Komil Allamjonov. Unofficial reports about the incident continue to surface, gradually confirming earlier suspicions.

Additionally, media reports suggest that Dmitry Liga, Director of the National Agency for Promising Projects of Uzbekistan, may have been targeted in an assassination attempt shortly after the attack on Allamjonov. The incidents are believed to be related.

Two Russian Chechen citizens accused of involvement in the assassination have been placed on Interpol's wanted list by Uzbekistan:

- Bislan Rasaev, born on May 26, 1988, in Russia, previously accused of participating in armed conflicts in Ukraine.
- Shamil Temurkhanov, born on August 10, 1993, in Russia, is approximately 1.90 m tall and weighs 90 kg.

Amid these developments, Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov issued a statement publicly threatening Komil Allamjonov and Dmitry Liga.

"I advise you not to play the role of victims, Komil Allamjonov and Dmitry Liga. Whatever you are planning, it is better to stop in time; otherwise, you will have to answer for all the intrigues, slander, and speculation. And now, I am talking about the answer according to our traditions," Kadyrov stated.

Deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Supreme Majlis Odiljon Tojiev condemned Kadyrov's interference in Uzbekistan's internal affairs and his threats against Uzbek state officials. He demanded a public apology to the Uzbek people and called on Kadyrov to assist the Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan in locating and extraditing Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temurkhanov.

Public activist Rasul Kusherboev, Advisor to the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, urged strict verification of every Chechen citizen entering Uzbekistan.
