Serdar Berdimuhamedow to visit Uzbekistan tomorrow

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow will visit Uzbekistan on a state visit on November 16–17, at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reported.

During the high-level talks, the agenda will focus on further developing and strengthening the Uzbekistan–Turkmenistan strategic partnership, expanding multifaceted cooperation, particularly in political, trade and economic, transport, water and energy, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

As part of the visit, the heads of state will attend the opening ceremony of the “Shovot–Tashovuz” border trade zone. They will also exchange views on international and regional issues.

The summit is expected to conclude with a joint statement and the signing of a package of bilateral documents.

President Berdimuhamedow will also take part in the seventh Consultative Meeting of Central Asian State Leaders.

Previously, it was reported that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Tashkent as an honorary guest for the same Consultative Meeting at the invitation of President Mirziyoyev and met with him.

Additionally, the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan—Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Sadyr Japarov, and Emomali Rahmon—attended the seventh Consultative Meeting, met with President Mirziyoyev, visited the Islamic Civilization Center in Tashkent, and took part in the ceremony honoring the winners of the “Kelajak Merosi” international award.
