BCE officer caught taking a bribe in Samarkand

In Samarkand region, an officer of the Bureau of Compulsory Enforcement (BCE) was caught accepting a $500 bribe, the State Security Service reported.
It was revealed that the BCE officer of the Samarkand city department, in exchange for personal gain, promised to cancel a writ of execution issued by the Samarkand City Court regarding a civil case to collect UZS 117,804,000 in debt from the defendant’s bank account in favor of the bank, using his contacts within the court system.
Additionally, he falsely claimed that he could exempt the defendant from the state fee for reviewing the case and lift the ban on the defendant’s vehicle, demanding $500 for this. He was caught receiving the money through an acquaintance, with the evidence documented by the State Security Service and the BCE’s regional personal security department.
Currently, a criminal case has been opened against the officer under Article 25 (Preparation and Attempt of a Crime) and Article 168, Part 3, Clause “v” (Fraud), as well as Article 28 (Types of Participants in a Crime) and Article 211, Part 1 (Bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are ongoing.
For reference, earlier a BCE officer in Bekabad district, Tashkent region, who accepted UZS 14,300,000 and $450 in bribes, was sentenced to six years in prison.
