In Uzbekistan, 700,000 families will receive financial assistance during Ramadan, and the state will cover medical treatment and necessary surgical procedures for 6,000 citizens. This was announced by Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva, First Deputy Director of the National Agency for Social Protection under the President of Uzbekistan, on her Instagram page.
According to her, on the eve of the holy month of Ramadan, a large-scale programme has been launched at the President’s initiative to support families in need of special care and attention.
The initiative will be implemented by the National Agency for Social Protection and the Waqf Public Charity Foundation. Under the programme, financial assistance will be provided to 700,000 families, while the costs of treatment and necessary surgeries for 6,000 citizens will be covered.
“Ramadan is a month of kindness, generosity and compassion. During this blessed period, it is our priority that every family feels the attention and support of the state and that no one is left alone with their concerns. May this holy month bring peace, tranquillity and prosperity to every household,” Shakhnoza Mirziyoyeva said.
Earlier, it was reported that 750 billion soums would be allocated to the Waqf Public Charity Foundation and 300 billion soums through the National Agency for Social Protection to support vulnerable populations during Ramadan.
