Russian President Vladimir Putin has acknowledged the recent visit to Russia by Saida Mirziyoyeva, the eldest daughter of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and presidential aide, highlighting her efforts in youth-related initiatives. He made these remarks on June 18 during a meeting with the heads of leading global news agencies.

In response to a question from Abdusaid Kuchimov, Director General of the National News Agency of Uzbekistan, regarding the possibility of launching a long-term youth exchange program with concrete projects and areas of cooperation, Putin emphasized the importance of engaging with young people.

“Shavkat Miromonovich’s assistant, Saida Shavkatovna, recently visited Moscow and held meetings with many of my colleagues in the Government and the Presidential Administration. Acting on the President’s instructions, she is paying significant attention to developing youth relations and advancing this direction. There are specific proposals in this area, and we will certainly work on them together. Youth engagement is undoubtedly one of the most important areas,” Putin stated.

It is also worth noting that, during the same meeting, Putin announced that Russia and Uzbekistan had reached an agreement to jointly address migration-related issues. He underlined the importance of focusing on youth in this context as well.

As a reminder, in August 2023, then-U.S. President Joseph Biden sent a letter to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in which he expressed satisfaction with their ongoing strategic cooperation and noted the honor of welcoming Saida Mirziyoyeva to Washington.
