Pavel Durov, the founder of Telegram, met with Otabek Umarov, the deputy chairman of the State Security Service of Uzbekistan, during his trip to the country. Umarov himself shared this news on his Telegram page.

"This week, the Telegram team, led by the founder of the project, Pavel Durov, and his brother Nikolay, visited Uzbekistan. In our country, this service is especially warmly received because for us, Telegram is more than just the first digital messenger. It helps us keep in touch with our loved ones, stay updated with the news, conduct business, and find necessary goods and services. Telegram assists almost every mobile Internet user in various matters," reads Umarov's post.

The head of the MMA Association of Uzbekistan also expressed hope that Durov's visit to the country was filled with positive impressions.

"It was a real honor for us to welcome Pavel and his family to the hospitable land of Uzbekistan. It is a great feeling to personally witness that they are not only masters of their craft at a high level but also wonderful people with open hearts to the world. We hope that the impressions left by the cities of Tashkent, Bukhara, and Samarkand, and their interactions with Telegram users, will inspire them to create new technological solutions. I believe that there is very little chance left for this," said Otabek Umarov.
