Mass media, non-governmental non-commercial organizations and citizens’ self-management bodies are given the right to conduct public examination of regulatory legal documents.  This was announced today, June 22, at the forty-second session of the Senate during the review of the Law “On anti-corruption examination of normative-legal documents and drafts”.

It is reported that the proposals and recommendations submitted by the public will be considered by the relevant state bodies and organizations.  Methodological provision and monitoring of anti-corruption expertise is entrusted to the Ministry of Justice.

It is noted that until today, the anti-corruption examination of regulatory legal documents and their drafts is regulated not by law, but by a regulation approved by the order of the Ministry of Justice.  This created the basis for the emergence of corruption loopholes in legislative documents.

The main principles of anti-corruption examination of normative legal documents and projects are defined by the new Law.

According to him, the anti-corruption examination can now be carried out not only by the Ministry of Justice, but also by the Anti-Corruption Agency, legal service employees, and state bodies and organizations charged with ensuring the implementation of relevant regulatory and legal documents.  .
