Man steals a Trailblazer and has an accident in Nukus

The Investigation Department under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, reported on an incident which happened in the city of Nukus, Republic of Karakalpakstan, in which a 31-year-old man broke into someone’s property and stole a Trailblazer from the garage.  The man proceeded to drive the vehicle while drunk and had an accident.

On the 1st May this year, at 01:40 a.m, an unknown person broke the window and illegally entered an unfinished house garage belonging to 39-year-old H.R., located in Nukus city.  He discovered that a Trailblazer in the garage had been left unlocked with the keys in the ignition.  He stole it and fled in an unknown direction.

Following a rapid search, the Trailblazer car belonging to the victim was found.  It had been crashed into a tree and subsequently overturned on the side of a road in Nukus district by an unknown person.

An unknown person who was in the car was arrested at the place of the accident, and his identity was clarified.  He is 31-year-old M.A., who was previously convicted.

And it was found that he was very drunk.

In connection with this situation, a criminal case was initiated against M.A by the Investigation Department under the Department of Coordination of Internal Affairs of Nukus City under Article 267, Part 2, Clause “g” of the Criminal Code (evading a vehicle) and arrested him.  Type of precaution was used.

It should be noted that according to the norms of the Criminal Code, a person who commits this crime can be punished with imprisonment from 10 to 15 years.
