In Namangan, individuals who attempted to transport gold jewelry worth 1 billion soums without undergoing customs inspection were informed of the court's decision, as reported by UzA.

On July 24, 2023, a Cobalt car traveling from Namangan to Tashkent was stopped and examined at the "Namangan" ,  facility. Upon investigation, it was discovered that a passenger, K.N., a jìjjrly, during an inspection of a Lacetti traveling in the Pop district, G.O., a passenger from Namangan, was found to be in posession of 29 pieces of semi-finished gold jewelry in chain form.

It was revealed that G.O. had purchased significant amounts of bullion gold products from unknown sources and transformed them into chains for jewelers.

Meanwhile, K.N. had intended to evade customs control and unlawfully sell the gold items to India via Tashkent International Airport.

According to experts, the combined weight of these 30 pieces of semi-finished gold jewelry is 1 kg 516 g, valued at 1 billion 46 million soums.

To avoid suspicion at border-customs posts, the gold jewelry, initially of higher authenticity level than 958, was marked with an authenticity level of "916," "22KR."

Following these events, a criminal case was launched by the Investigative Department of the Department of State Security for Namangan Region against G.O. and K.N., leading to investigative procedures.

The Namangan city court subsequently sentenced G.O. to 3 years and K.N. to 2 years of imprisonment for their involvement in the case.
