6213President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev gave a speech at the plenary session of the "Voice of the Global South" summit held online on 12 January under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Narendra Modi. This was reported by the Press Service under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan.
Leaders of Vietnam, Guyana, Mozambique, Senegal, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Thailand, Cambodia, and Papua New Guinea participated in the event organized under India's chairmanship of the G20.
In accordance with the agenda, issues of sustainable development focused on human interests were discussed. Opinions and specific proposals were exchanged on the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation in the economy, ecology, energy, food security, health care, human resources development, innovations, tourism, and other areas.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, assessed the current trends observed in the international situation today and expressed his opinion on the main priorities facing developing countries.
"Today, the world community is facing the negative consequences of various contradictions and conflicts, and the economic crisis. We are witnessing the decrease of open dialogue and mutual trust in international relations," - Mirziyoyev said.
In recent years, it was noted that the relations of strategic partnership and practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and India have risen to a new level in terms of quality and serving the common interests of the two peoples.
