Mirziyoyev congratulates Emir of Qatar on national holiday

Today, December 17, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, spoke by phone with the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. This was reported by the press service of the President.

During the conversation, Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the Emir of Qatar on the national holiday — the Day of the Foundation of the State — wishing him good health, happiness, and success, as well as peace and prosperity for the people of Qatar. The two leaders also discussed pressing issues related to the further expansion of multifaceted cooperation and the strengthening of the strategic partnership between their countries.

“The results of active dialogue and exchanges were positively assessed. In November of this year, the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum were held in Doha. In October, the Qatar Culture Week events were successfully organized in Tashkent. Investment projects are being implemented with the participation of leading Qatari companies in the development of energy, transport, and tourism infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, and other priority areas. The establishment of regular direct flights between the capitals is helping to increase the flow of tourists between them,” the report states.

During the call, the heads of state of the two countries paid special attention to the upcoming event plan for 2025, including the holding of the second summit of the Central Asia-Gulf Cooperation Council. They also exchanged views on current issues on the international agenda.
