As we previously reported, in the 5th round of the international tournament "Tata Steel-2023" held in the city of Wake-an-Zee, the Netherlands, Nodirbek Abdusattorov defeated the current Norwegian world champion, Magnus Carlsen.  After the debate with Carlsen, Abdusattarov expressed his thoughts about the game.

"The game was great.  Carlsen initially chose the C4 cage, I expected a simpler walk.  I played symmetrical English style.  On the next move, he chose E4.  This choice is very rare.  "I think I chose a suitable position at the beginning of the game," said Abdusattorov.

Nodirbek also answered several questions from the journalist about the game.

“I think one of the more notable situations was when you continued with F6 and Magnus chose not to change.  Did that surprise you?' asked the journalist.

“Yes, of course, when he started moving with the knight, the movement seemed a little unusual. Because such a move causes traffic in the center.  I found a sacrifice of interchangeability to be the key for me. "I think he underestimated the potential of the players in the center," said the Uzbekistani grandmaster.

Javahir Sindorov from Uzbekistan is also participating in the "Challenger" group of the "Tata Steel-2023" international tournament.  After five remaining rounds, Sindorov is in 2nd place with 4 points.  Today, 20 January, the Uzbek chess player will play against Brazil's Luis Supi in the 6th round of the tournament.

We remind you that the international tournament "Tata Steel-2023" will continue until 29 January.
