Two Bukhara deer listed in the Red Book are killed

5864Two Bukhara deer, which are included in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan, died in the Lower Amudarya Biosphere Reserve. The press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change reported this incident.
On July 16 of this year, at 06:00, the bodies of 2 Bukhara deer were discovered in the Beruni State Forestry section of the Lower Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve in the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Sadly, they had fallen into a trap set by poachers.
Following the incident, inspectors from the Lower Amudarya State Biosphere Reserve quickly responded and established an ambush at the location to identify those responsible for the animals' deaths. A few hours later, two unidentified individuals wearing masks approached the ambush site, but upon noticing the inspectors, they fled.
Due to the efficient actions of the inspectors in collaboration with the employees of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Beruni district, the poachers involved in the incident were apprehended. The captured individuals are identified as Sh.A., born in 1993, R.B., born in 1990, residing in the village of "Biybazar" of the Beruni district, and I.D. born in 1985.
Currently, the DIA of Beruniy district is conducting investigations in connection with the death of the animals and the involvement of these individuals.
For clarification, the Bukhara deer is a subspecies of mammals and is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature as an endangered species with a local distribution.
