7799A woman and her son, who were left in a difficult situation by their daughter, have been returned to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul.
It was noted that 45-year-old citizen I.G. and her minor child found themselves in a difficult situation in Istanbul and sought assistance in returning to Uzbekistan.
In August of this year, the woman had sent her 19-year-old daughter, A.B., to Istanbul for religious education at a madrasa. Subsequently, she traveled to Istanbul with her 12-year-old son to earn money and care for her child.
Upon arriving in Istanbul, she discovered that her daughter was not attending the madrasa and was planning to marry a foreign man under "Sharia law."
When the mother advised her daughter against this, she faced opposition and was expelled by her own child, resulting in I.G. and her 12-year-old son being left homeless.
In response to the difficult circumstances, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan, the Foreign Labor Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, the "Protection of the Rights of Uzbek Women" organization, and the Andijan regional representative office of the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan worked together to facilitate their return. They were sent back to Uzbekistan on September 14.
It is also worth noting that earlier, an Uzbek boy who had been stranded in Russia was also repatriated.
