The voting process for the election of deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan is ongoing at the 45th polling station under the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, as reported by the consulate's press service.

Uzbek citizens living in Turkey, whether temporarily or permanently, have the opportunity to participate in the elections at this polling station. It is noted that over 54,000 citizens of Uzbekistan reside and study in Turkey. While polling stations are operational at the embassy in Ankara and the Consulate General in Istanbul, mobile polling stations were also held in Bursa, Izmir, Antalya, Mersin, and Karabuk prior to the deadline.

For information, the elections of the Legislative Chamber are being held for the first time under a majoritarian-proportional (mixed) system. In this system, constituencies are divided into single-mandate and single constituencies. Seventy-five deputies of the lower house of parliament are elected through the majority system (voting for a candidate) in single-mandate constituencies, while the remaining seventy-five are elected by the proportional system, based on votes given to political parties (according to the party list).

According to the Central Election Commission, a total of 851 foreign (international) observers are monitoring the parliamentary election, including representatives from thirteen prestigious international organizations, such as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Bureau for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic States. Additionally, 560 observers from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations, along with 46 representatives from 24 election bodies of foreign countries, have been accredited.

Currently, there are 55,000 observers from political parties and more than 10,000 observers from citizens' self-government bodies overseeing the election process. A total of 1,068 representatives of local and foreign mass media have also been accredited so far.
