Driver hits drunken pedestrian and leaves him in cotton field in Kashkadarya

In Karshi district, Kashkadarya region, a driver caused a traffic accident and fled the scene, leaving the injured pedestrian without assistance, according to a report from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The victim, who lived in the "Qarakuchchi" neighborhood, had left his mother's home intoxicated around 12:30 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.
The investigation, conducted by law enforcement officers, identified the driver as a resident of Karshi district operating a "Labo" vehicle. After hitting the pedestrian, the driver placed the injured man in his car and abandoned him at the edge of a cotton field nearby. The victim succumbed to his injuries due to the lack of emergency medical care.
As a result, a criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 266 of the Criminal Code (violating traffic safety rules leading to a fatality) and Part 2 of Article 117 (abandoning a person in danger leading to death). The suspect has been detained, and a preventive measure of imprisonment has been applied. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Earlier, it was reported that a 21-year-old man in Namangan died after falling from the trunk of a moving car.
