Temporary restrictions have been introduced on the movement of heavy trucks in Kashkadarya region. The regional administration announced this.

According to the statement, the temporary restrictions have been imposed to preserve road surfaces and prevent their premature deterioration.

According to the Hydrometeorological Service, daytime air temperatures in the region are reaching 42–44 degrees Celsius, with even higher temperatures recorded in some areas. Under such conditions, asphalt pavement can heat up to 70–75 degrees Celsius, reducing its load-bearing capacity. As a result, wheel ruts, deformations and other forms of road damage may occur.

“In this regard, in order to preserve highways built and repaired with funds from the state budget and international financial institutions, and in accordance with Articles 15 and 23 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan ‘On Road Traffic’ (Law No. ORQ-900), as well as Article 16 of the Law ‘On Highways,’ the movement of heavy trucks on public roads in Qarshi city, district centers and the roads connecting them will be temporarily restricted every day from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.,” the regional administration said.

Drivers and freight transport companies have been asked to comply with the restrictions and plan their transportation schedules accordingly.

Earlier, it was reported that similar temporary restrictions on heavy truck traffic had also been introduced in Surkhandarya region.
