Today, 25 November, Jamoliddin Khojimanov was relieved of his duties as governor of Guliston city, and Farrukh Oktamjonov was appointed as his successor, the regional government’s press service reported.
It was noted that an extraordinary session of the City Council of People’s Deputies was held in Guliston. Acting regional governor Erkinjon Turdimov participated in the session, which was conducted in an analytical and critical format.
In his address, Erkinjon Turdimov highlighted shortcomings in several sectors of the city, particularly in reducing poverty, ensuring employment, developing and implementing new investment projects, and promoting exports. He noted that the actions of the city’s previous head were insufficient in these areas. Deputies also expressed their views on untapped opportunities for further city development.
The session addressed organizational matters. Specifically, Jamoliddin Khusniddinovich Khojimanov, who had held the position of city governor until today, was relieved of his duties.
Deputies approved the candidacy of Farrukh Oktamjonovich Oktamjonov, who previously served as first deputy head of the Syrdarya Regional Department of Internal Affairs, as the new governor of Guliston city.
It is worth noting that earlier, the governor of Sariosiyo district, Abduqodir Donaev, was relieved of his duties, and Odiljon Yoqubov was appointed in his place.
