Gianni Infantino visits Uzbekistan for CAFA Nations Cup final

September 8 — FIFA President Gianni Infantino has arrived in Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reported.

Infantino is visiting the country at the invitation of the UFA to discuss projects for the further development of football, familiarize himself with the National Football Center, and attend the final match of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025.

The FIFA delegation was welcomed at Tashkent International Airport by the Minister of Sports of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov, Vice President of the Olympic Council of Asia and First Deputy Chairman of the National Olympic Committee Otabek Umarov, First Vice President of the UFA Ravshan Irmatov, and other officials.

The final match will be held today, September 8, at Olimpia Stadium in Tashkent between the national teams of Uzbekistan and Iran. Kickoff is scheduled for 19:30.

On September 5, Uzbekistan defeated Kyrgyzstan 4:0 to secure its place in the final.
