Uzbekistan advances to CAFA Nations Cup final after victory over Kyrgyzstan

On September 5, the Uzbekistan national team faced Kyrgyzstan and secured a convincing 4:0 victory.

The match, part of the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, was held at the Olimpiya Stadium in Tashkent. In the 20th minute, Akmal Mozgovoy opened the scoring for Uzbekistan. Otabek Shukurov doubled the lead with a penalty in the 67th minute. Igor Sergeev added a third in the 82nd minute, and Azizbek Turgunboyev sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal, bringing the final score to 4:0. Kyrgyzstan finished the match with 10 players after receiving a red card.

Eight national teams are participating in the CAFA Nations Cup 2025, with matches taking place in Tashkent and Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Earlier in the tournament, Uzbekistan defeated Turkmenistan 2:1 on September 2 and drew 1:1 with Oman on August 30. With 7 points, Uzbekistan topped its group and advanced to the final.

The final match will take place on September 8 against Iran, also at the Olimpiya Stadium in Tashkent.
