8085Yesterday, March 12, an S7 Airlines Boeing 737-800 (RA-73669) aircraft became stranded on the runway of Fergana International Airport. The aircraft had arrived from Novosibirsk on flight S7-5561. This was reported by “Aviatorina.”
According to the report, during taxiing after landing, the outer wheel of the aircraft’s left main landing gear became blocked and detached. While turning off the runway, the aircraft commander noticed the plane veering to the left, stopped the movement, and called for engineering and technical service personnel. Upon inspection, it was discovered that several bolts securing the wheel were missing.
Shortly thereafter, passengers were disembarked directly on the runway and transported to the terminal along with their luggage. The Boeing 737-800 was temporarily removed from service and evacuated to the apron several hours later.
The Fergana airfield was temporarily closed for flights due to the blockage of its only runway. As a result, Utair Airlines flight V738, en route from Vnukovo to Fergana, was forced to land in Tashkent instead.
According to S7’s press service, a backup aircraft was dispatched from Novosibirsk to carry out the return flight to Uzbekistan.
As a reminder, earlier, a Boeing 737 (RA-73091) operated by Russia’s Utair airline on the Samarkand-Moscow route returned to Samarkand Airport due to a malfunction (severe vibration) in its left engine during ascent.
