12851Reports have surfaced on social media claiming that a traffic safety officer dragged a civilian on the hood of a car in Fergana. The Traffic Safety Service has provided details regarding the incident.
According to the statement, the event occurred on the night of April 8, at the intersection of Alisher Navoiy and Amir Temur streets in Fergana city. A traffic accident involving Nexia-3 and Lacetti vehicles prompted the arrival of a traffic officer at the scene. The officer requested both drivers to undergo medical examinations, but the Lacetti driver refused.
A report was subsequently filed on-site, and the officer began preparing an administrative protocol under Article 136 of the Administrative Liability Code (driving under the influence). The officer attempted to transport the Lacetti driver to the accident site in another Nexia-2 vehicle. At this point, acquaintances of the Lacetti driver appeared, breaking the windows of the Nexia-2 and inflicting injuries on the officer in an attempt to free their associate.
In response to the escalating violence, the Nexia-2 driver moved the vehicle to ensure personal safety. The Lacetti owner, a woman, clung to the hood of the Nexia in an effort to stop it.
The Fergana city prosecutor’s office has since launched a criminal case under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.
Previously, in Tashkent, a Malibu driver traveling at high speed dragged a traffic officer on the hood of the car. The officer sustained injuries and received immediate medical attention.
