Erkinjon Turdimov dismisses and warns regional leaders (video)

Acting governor of Syrdarya region, Erkinjon Turdimov, held a critical meeting with regional leaders, during which he imposed disciplinary measures on several officials for failing to fulfill their duties. The announcement was made by the regional administration’s press service.

During the meeting, Turdimov emphasized the importance of strengthening execution discipline within state management bodies and ensuring the timely implementation of decisions and directives.

The meeting analyzed shortcomings in the activities of secretariat heads and other officials, including delays in execution and other issues. As a result, four officials were given disciplinary warnings, and one official was dismissed from their position. The identity of the dismissed individual has not been disclosed.

Turdimov reiterated that strengthening execution discipline is a responsibility of every leader.

Previously, under Turdimov’s leadership, a governance session was held to assess the literacy levels of senior officials in state institutions. A dictation exercise revealed unsatisfactory results among several departments:

  • Health Department: 6 out of 9 leaders received poor marks.
  • Regional Power Grid: 4 out of 5 leaders scored poorly.
  • Uztelecom Syrdarya Branch: 7 out of 10 leaders failed.
  • Uzbekistan Post Syrdarya Branch: 4 out of 8 leaders received unsatisfactory scores.
