4184In Uzbekistan, radar-recorded speeds may now be reduced by up to 10 km/h instead of the previous 5 km/h. This update was announced by the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis.
According to the report, the Cabinet of Ministers submitted a draft law proposing amendments to the Administrative Responsibility Code of Uzbekistan under its legislative initiative rights.
“The draft law provides for administrative penalties for speed-related violations to account for potential errors in radar and speedometer readings, with up to 10 km/h being deducted from the recorded speed,” the statement said.
As a result, drivers found traveling at 69 km/h in a zone with a 60 km/h speed limit, for example, will not be penalized.
As a reminder, an amendment introduced last month stated that exceeding the speed limit by more than 60 km/h in Uzbekistan would result in a fine of 5,625,000 UZS.
