Now drivers licenses can be issued without the presence of the applicant

Starting tomorrow, 15 April, the procedure for issuing a national driver’s license, including through the Unified Interactive State Services Portal of the Republic of Uzbekistan (the Unified Portal), will be introduced without the direct participation of applicants.  This is stipulated in the decision signed by the Cabinet of Ministers.

According to the decision:

•    The thumb print data of the applicants for the national driver’s license is placed, if the information systems do not have the thumb print data of the applicants, the applicants provide their signature sample in electronic form;
•    Applications for obtaining national driver’s licenses and replacing old-style driver’s licenses with new ones can be submitted online through the applicants’ personal cabinet on the Unified Portal, 24 hours a day, regardless of weekends and holidays;
•    It will be possible to receive newly issued national driver’s licenses by mail.
