A historical-ethnographic park named "Boqiy Bukhara" is set to be established in Bukhara, as reported by the regional government's press service on February 3.

The park project aims to uphold historical architectural traditions, enhance green spaces, and improve the standard of living for the local population. The source stated, "To elevate the quality of services, continue historical architectural traditions, and increase green parks, the historical-ethnographic park 'Boqiy Bukhara' will be established in the old and beloved city of Bukhara."

The historical-ethnographic park will feature elements showcasing the harmony of Bukhara's traditional architecture and modern urban planning styles. These include an ethnographic museum, historical neighborhoods typical for the Bukhara oasis, teahouses, kitchens serving national dishes, traditional drainage systems, artisan stalls, and practical art workshops such as jewelry, goldsmithing, embroidery, woodcarving, blacksmithing, pottery, painting, and knifemaking.

Additionally, plans include the installation of a musical fountain and a "green corridor" at the complex's center. The establishment of the ethnographic park involves the collaboration of international and local experts, adhering to the requirements of the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage adopted by UNESCO on November 16, 1972.

The construction of the park is seen as a crucial step in restoring ancient drainage systems, exemplifying cultural wealth. Many historical monuments in Bukhara suffered destruction during the "red army" attack led by Mikhail Frunze in the 1920s. Notably, in 2021, a historical monument from the 18th century was discovered in Bukhara.
