Man arrested for attempting to sell 2 hectares of state land in Samarkand

3239A man who attempted to sell 2 hectares of state-owned land for 100 million sums was arrested in the Kushrabot district of the Samarkand region. This was reported by the Department for Combating Economic Crimes under the Prosecutor General's Office.
According to the department, during an operation conducted in collaboration with the Kushrabot district department and the Internal Affairs Department, citizen M.I. convinced citizen U.T. that he owned 2 hectares of state land in the "Ota" MFY area. He then agreed to sell the land for 100 million sums. M.I. was detained while receiving the payment and promising to issue the necessary documents at a later time.
In a separate operation involving the Bukhara city department and the Internal Affairs Department, citizen Sh.A. was arrested for attempting to fraudulently transfer 60 hectares of land allocated for farming in the "Latif Sobungar" neighborhood area of Vobkent district. Sh.A. claimed the land belonged to the “Sh.O.” farm he headed, and received 90 million sums in exchange for registering the land under his name through contacts within the cadastre department.
Criminal cases have been opened under Articles 25, 168 (fraud) and 28, 211 (bribery) of the Criminal Code, and investigations are ongoing.
Earlier, in the Karmana district of Navoi region, a man was arrested for attempting to buy 1 hectare of vacant land from the khokimiyat’s reserve for 2 billion sums.
