Preschool education institutions in Bukhara region have temporarily suspended operations due to forecasts that air temperatures could rise to 44–45°C. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education reported this.

According to the conclusion of the Bukhara Regional Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, all preschool education institutions in the region will suspend operations from July 15 to 17 this year. State-run kindergartens will resume their activities in accordance with established procedures from July 20.

“Dear parents! This temporary restriction is a preventive measure aimed solely at ensuring the health and safety of our children. We ask you to understand this decision and pay special attention to children’s health during these days,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education said that no general instruction has been issued to all regions to close kindergartens.

According to information provided by the ministry to QALAMPIR.UZ, decisions on temporarily closing preschool education institutions are made based on the situation in each region.

“We have not issued any instruction, for example, to close 15 or 20 kindergartens. This matter is decided based on the circumstances through mutual agreement between the ministry, local authorities, regional branches of Uzhydromet, and territorial divisions of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Committee,” the ministry’s press service said.

The ministry noted that such decisions are not applied uniformly across all regions but are made separately for each area based on weather conditions and children’s safety.

It was previously reported that extreme heat was expected to intensify in Uzbekistan by the end of this week, with temperatures reaching up to 44°C in some regions. Due to the heat, the Ministry of Health issued recommendations urging citizens to protect themselves from high temperatures and pay attention to their health.

Additionally, due to the hot weather, the temporary suspension of kindergarten activities was announced in Nukus city and eight districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. Later, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education stated that similar measures could be introduced in other regions of Uzbekistan depending on the situation. Following this, the temporary closure of all state preschool education institutions in Khorezm region was announced. At the same time, some kindergartens in Navoi region were also temporarily closed.
