37002Malika Qayumova, a distinguished artist of Uzbekistan, passed away at the age of 70, as reported by the Ministry of Culture.
"Malika Qayumova will live forever in our hearts as a unique talent who left an indelible mark on the art of theater. She was a devoted and selfless artist dedicated to her profession," the report stated.
For your information, Malika Qayumova was born in 1954 in the Tashkent region. She received her higher education and, in 1976, graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Theater and Fine Arts. After graduating from the institute, she began her career at the Uzbek Drama Theater. Since 1993, she had been working at the Musical Theater named after Muqimiy. Despite her young age at the time, Malika Qayumova took on the role of a mother in this theater and earned the trust and respect of the theater team. Throughout her creative career, Malika Qayumova performed the main characters and other roles in more than 30 plays staged at the theater, displaying exceptional skill. In 2011, she was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Artist of Uzbekistan."
