Honored Artist of Uzbekistan, Matyakub Matchonov, has been fined for insulting an acquaintance. QALAMPIR.UZ has obtained a copy of the court's decision.

According to court documents, on January 15 of this year, Matchonov was at the Cinematography Agency building when he insulted the victim, identified as E.Yu.

In a court session held today, January 22, at the Chilonzor District Court, the actor explained that he had known E.Yu. for a long time. He further noted that, as a member of the Arts Council, he had acted in films commissioned by the state, which led to a conflict of interest in this situation.

Matchonov clarified that on the day of the incident, E.Yu. had argued with the agency's security personnel after being denied entry. In the heat of the moment, Matchonov insulted E.Yu.

The actor told the court that he regretted his actions, adding that he did not anticipate the situation escalating in such a way. He mentioned that he considered E.Yu. like a brother and had been joking with him at the time. Upon learning that E.Yu. had filed a complaint, Matchonov expressed surprise, as he did not expect the matter to develop into a formal grievance. He apologized and requested the court to show leniency.

As a result, the court imposed a fine of 1,125,000 sums, three times the basic calculation amount, under Article 41 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (insult) and Article 33 (application of a lighter administrative penalty).
