The Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov, took part in the closing ceremony of the 19th Asian Summer Games, as reported by the Prime Minister's press secretary.


The 19th Asian Summer Games were held in the People's Republic of China from September 23 to October 8 this year. Uzbek athletes who participated in the games achieved outstanding results, winning 22 gold, 18 silver, and 31 bronze medals, earning them a proud fifth place in the overall team rankings.


The closing ceremony of "Hangzhou-2022" took place at the stadium of the Olympic Sports Center. Abdulla Aripov, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, who was currently in China on a working visit, participated in the ceremony at the invitation of Li Xiang, the Prime Minister of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.


It is worth noting that the results achieved by Uzbek athletes at "Hangzhou-2022" are the best they have ever achieved at the Asian Games.


China, Japan, and South Korea emerged as the top performers at the Asian Games, while among Uzbekistan's neighboring countries, Kazakhstan secured the 11th position, Kyrgyzstan the 18th, Tajikistan the 24th, and Turkmenistan the 29th.
