Man detained in Jizzakh for attempting to sell government land for $50,000 (video)

A man who attempted to sell a 2-hectare land plot for $50,000 in Bakhmal district of Jizzakh region has been detained. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to the report, the 51-year-old resident of Sangzor mahalla in Bakhmal district незаконно attempted to sell a 2-hectare plot of land that belongs to the district administration’s reserve. He allegedly promised that the land would later be officially allocated for farming through acquaintances working in high-ranking positions.

He reached an agreement to sell the land for $50,000. While receiving 400 million soums of the pre-agreed payment in Gallaaral district, he was detained by law enforcement officers with material evidence.

A pre-investigation inquiry has been launched into the case.

Earlier, it was reported that in Pop district of Namangan region, a hokim assistant attempted to sell 90 sotix of state reserve land for $4,500.
