Everyone has a chance to play in the World Cup – Cannavaro

Fabio Cannavaro, head coach of the Uzbekistan national football team, emphasized the importance of the training camp held in Dubai ahead of the World Cup for both himself and his coaching staff.

“This camp was very important for me and my staff. Over the past four months, we have observed many matches in the domestic league and seen numerous players. This camp gave us the opportunity to work with them directly. I spoke individually with each player because I want to hear their views as well. I emphasized that the World Cup and the Asian Cup are ahead of us, and everyone must be prepared. Each player needs to feel that they are part of the national team. Football can change very quickly, and injuries are always possible. They need to understand that everyone has a chance to play in the World Cup. I believe this camp was very useful for the players,” Cannavaro said.

For reference, during the Dubai camp, Cannavaro’s team drew 2-2 against China on January 26 and defeated Armenia’s Urartu club 4-2 on January 30.

It is worth noting that in the group stage of the World Cup, the Uzbekistan national team was placed in Group K alongside Portugal, Colombia, and the winner of the play-off between Jamaica, Congo, and New Caledonia.
