New director of Uzbekistan’s Statistical Agency announced

On February 24, Behzod Hamroev was appointed Director of the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The appointment was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Sherzod Asadov.

According to the Presidential Decree, Behzod Saylikhonovich Hamroev has assumed his new role and has been relieved of his position as Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.

Born in 1983 in the Bukhara region, Hamroev studied at the Tashkent State University of Economics and later at the National Institute of Political Science of Japan. With 12 years of experience in the banking sector, he has served as Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank since 2020.

Additionally, it was recently announced that Sharifbek Shamsiddinovich Hasanov has been appointed Director of the Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
