Uzbekistan national team players Eldor Shomurodov and Abbosbek Fayzullaev’s club, Istanbul “Basaksehir”, has dismissed its head coach, the club’s press service reported.

“Our club has mutually agreed to terminate the contract with head coach Cagdas Atan. Over two seasons, his dedication and professionalism helped lead our team to consecutive European competitions, continuing the club’s tradition. We thank Cagdas Atan for his contributions and wish him success in his future coaching career”, the club stated.

According to Turkish media, former Borussia Dortmund head coach Nuri Sahin may replace Cagdas Atan. Negotiations with him have already begun.

"The 36-year-old young coach, who took a break after concluding his tenure at Borussia Dortmund, has arrived in Istanbul to meet with Basaksehir’s management. The club is reportedly planning a long-term project with him", the Karar said.

It is worth noting that at the beginning of July this year, 29-year-old Uzbek forward Eldor Shomurodov transferred from Italy’s Roma to Turkey’s Istanbul-based Basaksehir. Later, at the end of July, Abbosbek Fayzullaev also joined Basaksehir, moving from Russia’s CSKA.
