A 29-year-old Uzbek citizen whose residence permit in Russia was revoked has been officially deported. The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported the decision.
The individual initially traveled to Russia to study at a medical faculty but was expelled from the university in June 2025. In 2021, he had been granted a residence permit and was registered for temporary residence in the city of Saransk, Republic of Mordovia.
On June 10 of this year, the man was detained by officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Federal Security Service (FSB) in Mordovia. The reason for his detention was a video posted on social media showing him engaging in hooliganism in central Saransk. In the footage, he used abusive language directed at women and residents.
Following his arrest, he was taken to the Internal Affairs Department No. 3 in Saransk. Administrative reports were filed against him under Part 1 of Article 20.1 (petty hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 18.8 (violation of entry and residence rules for foreign citizens) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
A court sentenced him to 10 days of administrative detention. In addition, by the Federal Law “On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation,” his residence permit was revoked, and he was banned from reentering the country.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Uzbek citizen had already been held administratively liable several times during the spring of this year.
It should be recalled that earlier, a criminal case was initiated in the Russian city of Volzhsk against a 63-year-old resident for registering eight Uzbek citizens at his home address.
