Court announces verdict in Kobul Dusov’s criminal case

Today, February 24, the Arnasay District Criminal Court concluded the open trial on the criminal case against Kobul Dusov and announced the verdict. This was reported by Aziz Obidov, the press secretary of the Supreme Court.

It is noted that the court collected the testimony of the defendant's victims and witnesses, the conclusion of the forensic linguistic examination, screenshots of the recordings, and all the samples from the criminal case.

"By the court verdict, Qabul Dosov was found not guilty under Article 139 (slander), Part 3, Subparagraphs 'a', 'g' of the Criminal Code and Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Subparagraph 'a' of the Criminal Code, along with citizens M. Eshimkulov, O. Kamolova, and Sh. Hasanova. The court ruled that the criminal incident described in the indictment did not occur, and he was acquitted under Article 83 (Grounds for Rehabilitation), Subparagraph 1 of the Criminal Procedure Code," the report states.

According to the court verdict, Kobul Dusov and four victims (responsible for the preschool and school education system in the Jizzakh region—N. Yalgasheva, O. Kamolova, Sh. Hasanova, and S. Suyarova) were found guilty of committing crimes under:

• Article 139 (slander), Part 3, Clause 'a'
• Article 140 (insult), Part 3, Clause 'a'

They were sentenced to 1 year and 2 months of imprisonment, to be served consecutively under:

• Article 59 (Imposition of punishment for multiple crimes), Part 8
• Article 61 (Rules for calculating punishment)

Dusov was sentenced to serve the sentence in a correctional colony.

It was added that the interested parties in this criminal case have the right to apply to the court in the procedure of civil proceedings for the recovery of material and moral damages.

We would like to remind you that by the verdict of the Chilanzar District Criminal Court on November 22, 2024, Kobul Dusov (born in 1984 in the Samarkand region) was found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3, Clause 'a' of Article 140 (insult) of the Criminal Code and was sentenced to 1 year of restriction of liberty.

On January 24 of this year, Kobul Dusov was arrested in the Samarkand region.

By the ruling of the Yashnabad District Criminal Court on January 24, the sentence of restriction of liberty of 11 months and 2 days, imposed on Kobul Dusov by the Chilanzar District Criminal Court on November 22, 2024, and not yet served, was replaced with imprisonment for the same period, and the sentence was ordered to be served in a correctional colony.
