On July 1, a preventive inspector was fatally stabbed while responding to a domestic incident in the Khojaabad district of the Andijan region. The deceased officer, Senior Lieutenant Abdurasul Abduvaliyev, was posthumously awarded the “Courage” medal by presidential decree. The Andijan Regional Department of Internal Affairs reported the news.

The decree from the President of Uzbekistan was read aloud by regional governor Shukhrat Abdurakhmonov. The medal was presented to the late officer’s family in honor of his service and bravery.

According to official information, at 20:50 on July 1, a report was received about a domestic altercation in the “Yuksalish” neighborhood of the Khojaabad district. Senior Lieutenant Abduvaliyev and the neighborhood chairman, A. Mamataliev, arrived at the scene in response.

It was discovered that 65-year-old citizen Yunusali Tumarovich Kholbazorov, who was intoxicated, was threatening his family members with a kitchen knife. While attempting to disarm and neutralize him, Kholbazorov stabbed Senior Lieutenant Abduvaliyev in the chest and fled the scene.

Despite immediate assistance, the officer succumbed to his injuries en route to the hospital. A criminal case was opened under Article 97, Part 2, Clause "g" of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan (intentional murder). Kholbazorov was apprehended on July 4 in a cemetery.

As previously reported, this is not the first violent incident in the region. In a separate case, a man in the city of Andijan fatally stabbed his wife during a domestic dispute on a public street. The suspect, identified as A.D., was detained by night patrol officers in the Kumakay mahalla of Altinkul district. He remains in custody as the investigation continues.
