On 21 January, another charter flight was carried out by the competent authorities of the United States to deport individuals residing illegally in the country. A total of 44 citizens of Uzbekistan were returned home on this flight, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

According to the statement, the charter flight was organized in cooperation with relevant US government agencies, ensuring the safe and timely return of Uzbek nationals to their home country.

“This measure is yet another important example of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United States. Joint efforts to ensure the safety of our citizens abroad, protect their legal rights, and facilitate their return to the homeland are continuing,” the statement said.

It is worth recalling that in April 2025, Uzbek citizens who were residing in the United States without legal grounds and had been placed on a deportation list were also returned via a charter flight. As part of that operation, a special New York–Tashkent charter flight was organized. The United States described the operation as historic and expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan.

In September 2025, it was also reported that 39 Uzbek nationals had been deported from the United States.
