On May 22, a formal welcoming ceremony was held at Congress Square in Ljubljana for the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who arrived on an official visit to the Republic of Slovenia. The event was reported by the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

President Mirziyoyev was warmly received by the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar. A guard of honor was lined up in tribute to the distinguished guest, while a military orchestra performed the national anthems of both Uzbekistan and Slovenia.

The leaders of the two countries walked past the guard of honor and greeted members of their respective official delegations.

Following the official ceremony, the presidents laid flowers at the Monument to the Victims of All Wars in Zvezda Park—a gesture symbolizing respect for the memory of war victims and a shared commitment to peace and humanity.

It is worth noting that prior to this visit, on May 19, President Mirziyoyev traveled to Hungary. On May 20, he held bilateral talks with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán in both narrow and extended formats, and met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, László Kövér, as well as executives of major Hungarian banks and companies.

Most recently, on May 21, the Uzbek leader took part in the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States, where he proposed several key initiatives aimed at enhancing multilateral cooperation.
