A modern tourism center will be constructed on the shores of the Aydar-Arnasoy lake system in the Jizzakh region. This was announced on July 22 during the presentation of new projects planned for the region, which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed during his visit to Jizzakh.
It was noted that Jizzakh’s diverse nature, with its mountainous and desert landscapes, offers opportunities for year-round travel. The “Zomin” tourist and recreational zone, Zamin Airport, and new roads have further expanded tourism prospects. Parks have been created along six large canals. Now, a modern tourism center will be developed on the shores of the Aydar-Arnasoy lake system.
“We are working to bring industry to the districts and create jobs. Modern enterprises are emerging in areas that were once steppes. Our people are earning income from crafts and farming. But these are today’s results. A new generation is emerging with growing knowledge and demands. We need to create a foundation for them to work and live well. If opportunities are used wisely, Zamin district can become an area free of unemployment,” said President Mirziyoyev.
It is also known that an art palace, an art school, a general education school, and a sports complex are being built side by side in the new center of the Kokdala district. The head of state emphasized that this model is convenient for children and should be applied in future projects. Based on this experience, plans are in place to build a culture palace and an art school in Zamin district. The culture palace will have a capacity of 300 seats and will serve more than 45,000 residents of the district center. The “Zomin Sayqali” folklore and ethnographic ensemble, along with 13 creative circles, currently operates there.
The authorities received instructions on implementing these plans and developing socio-economic sectors. This marked the conclusion of the President’s visit to the Jizzakh region.
It should be recalled that last year, Azerbaijani singer and businessman Emin Agalarov expressed his intention to build the “Sea Breeze Uzbekistan” international tourism center on the banks of the Charvak reservoir in the Bostanlyk district of the Tashkent region. On April 14 of this year, he presented the master plan of the international tourism center to President Mirziyoyev. However, this project has sparked serious objections on social networks and among the general public. Activists are concerned that it could harm the environment and threaten the drinking water source vital for the city of Tashkent. Amid these protests, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov, along with businessman Emin Agalarov, assured Uzbek media representatives during a press tour at the Sea Breeze Baku complex in Azerbaijan that the proposed tourist zone in Charvak would not negatively impact the environment.
