In the Jizzakh region, the head of the prison asked for a bribe of $10,000 in exchange for reducing a prisoner's sentence, as informed by Aziz Obidov, press secretary of the Supreme Court.

It was noted that the head of the temporary custody prison in the Sharof Rashidov district of the Jizzakh region received $400 in exchange for providing food to a prisoner and arranging a telephone conversation with his relatives. Additionally, he demanded $10,000 through his familiar lawyers in exchange for reducing the defendant's sentence.

He was arrested after receiving $5,000 during a swift operation conducted by the State Security Service. This case was considered in the Forish District Court for criminal cases.

"I pray and hope that you will deliver a fair sentence and a non-custodial sentence. I have nothing else to say," said the defendant.

According to the court verdict, the accused was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months of suspension and deprived of liberty for 6 years and 6 months by Article 59 of the Criminal Code (Sentencing for several crimes) and Article 61 (Rules for calculating the addition of sentences).

It should be noted that earlier, the chief tax inspector was caught with physical evidence when he promised to eliminate the tax debts of three LLCs operating in Gulistan by declaring them bankrupt in a simplified procedure and receiving $4,000 in return.
