4358As of January 1, 2025, VAT exemptions for public transport will be abolished, according to a recent presidential decree.
On September 18, the President of Uzbekistan signed Decree No. PF-140, titled "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Documents Providing for Tax and Customs Benefits, and on Considering Some of Them Invalid."
The decree stipulates that starting in 2025, value-added tax (VAT) exemptions for goods and services provided by legal entities that are sole participants of public associations for persons with disabilities, as well as VAT exemptions on passenger transport services with uniform tariff privileges, will be discontinued.
Additionally, the decree reduces the tax rate for specific land plots by 50%, ending the previous land tax exemption for areas newly designated for gardens, vineyards, and orchards.
It should also be noted that recent reports have indicated that a portion of VAT will be reimbursed to entrepreneurs offering tour operators, hotels, and catering services.
